I have always thought about doing chalkboard menus. It’s kind of the trend these days. You see them in coffeeshops, bakeries, restaurants, and so on to give it that down to earth feel. Although I did the chalkboards at the old Melt on Cherokee, and I have done numerous signs, this is the first time I was asked to do a menu. I really got to use my typography and calligraphy skills on this one because the majority is writing.

I was really excited and honored when Genevieve of Synergy Smoothie & Elixir Bar asked me to do this. Not only do they have smoothies and elixirs, but teas, CBD, crystals, wrapped crystals, and kava kava as well. They even host events and music sometimes. The high ceilings give it a lot of space and open feel while the decor makes it charmingly geometric. The greatest feature has to be the orgone inlayed cedar bar. It’s absolutely beautiful. This is a great place to recharge your chi!
